Flying with a baby checklist

Confirm before travelling0/6

• Check the operating airline’s infant booking and minimum-age rules
• Check the travel documents required for the baby on your route
• Confirm seating and any child-restraint device directly with the airline
• Ask about cot availability if relevant, without assuming it is guaranteed
• Check baggage allowances and how your pushchair will be handled
• Plan airport transport and any suitable child seat needed after landing

Pack the accessible baby bag0/6

• Pack nappies, wipes, a changing mat and bags for used items
• Pack spare baby clothes and a spare top for the accompanying adult
• Prepare the feeding supplies you normally use, with a sensible reserve for delays
• Check departure-airport security rules for baby food and liquids
• Bring a familiar comfort item and a small quiet toy
• Keep documents and essential supplies reachable without opening every bag

At the airport and on board0/6

• Allow time for check-in, security and a change before boarding
• Ask where your pushchair will be returned at the destination
• Keep the baby’s bag with you when other bags are checked at the gate
• Follow the cabin crew’s instructions for seating and restraints
• Locate changing facilities and ask the crew if you need practical help
• Check the seat area and collect all baby equipment before leaving
